Berhampur: Cyber police Monday arrested a youth on charges of opening a fake account on Facebook in the name of a girl and uploading all kinds of obscene pictures and videos.
The accused, identified as Sarbeswar Martha (24) of Jharpada area under Champapedi panchayat, earlier resided at Sriperumbudur area in Chennai. He had opened a fake account in the name of a girl. He used to upload objectionable pictures and videos and spread it on social media platforms, police said.
A team of cyber police conducted a raid and arrested him from Chennai. He was produced in Purushottampur court and later remanded in judicial custody after the court rejected his bail plea.
