Jajpur Town: In a shocking incident a youth killed his mother after she denied him Rs10 at Kuansarpur village under Jajpur Town police limits in Jajpur district, Saturday.
The deceased was identified as Nirupama Sahu, wife of Naresh Sahu and the accused youth was identified as their son Subham, 20.
As per reports, Subham demanded Rs10 from his mother Nirupama Saturday afternoon. When Nirupama declined to give him money, Subham suddenly got furious and abused his mother. He took her inside a room and locked it from inside. He then started hitting his mother’s head with a pestle continuously.
Hearing Nirupama’s scream, locals broke the door. They captured Subham and tied him to an electric poll. However, Nirupama was dead by then.
Police reached the spot and arrested Subham and sent the body of Nirupama for post-mortem.
Locals said that Subham is a habitual drug user and he committed the crime in a state of intoxication.
