Sambalpur: In a bizarre incident, a youth set the Rengali Tehsil office in this district on fire, shot the act and uploaded it on social media platforms Friday. However, the police managed to trace the youth and detain him for interrogation. The youth has been identified as Rajiv Kishan.
When the video featuring Rajiv setting the office on fire went viral on social media, police swung into action. On getting information, a fire engine reached the spot and doused the flames. Though no loss of life or injuries was reported, documents and furniture were reduced to ashes.
The police meanwhile zeroed in on Rajiv, who confessed to his act of setting the office on fire, shooting the video and uploading it on social media over a land dispute. A detailed investigation is underway.
