Sundargarh: Life has turned topsy-turvy for a youth at the RIT Colony here after he lost both his legs due to an electric shock. Asit Prasad, the elder son of auto-rickshaw driver Kiran Kumar Prasad, is now battling for life in the ICU of Ispat General Hospital (IGH) in Rourkela.
The financial problems of his family have come in the way of his treatment. His parents had pinned a lot of hope on him, but now he has become a burden.
Prasad’s father with his meagre income is finding it hard to support his family as well as meet the increasing medical expenses of his son.
Prasad, a student of Plus Two commerce stream in Sundargarh Government College, has become helpless after losing his legs. He does not know what fate has in store for him as his dreams have been shattered.
He suffered 80 percent burns in the mishap, and doctors at IGH had to amputate his legs to save him. His parents had appealed to the public to help them meet the medical expenses of their son.
