Jagatsinghpur: A youth who attempted to loot money from the ‘hundi’ (temple donation box) was caught red-handed after his hand got stuck in the box at Srirampur village in Tulang panchayat near Jagatsinghpur.
He got relief only when some servitors opened the temple in the morning.
No police case has been lodged and the accused, who is the son of one of the servitors, has been released with a note of warning.
The accused has been identified as Gobind Tripathy, son of Narayan Tripathy of the same village.
As per reports, Tripathy sneaked into the Panchamukhi Hanuman temple late in the night and tried to steal cash from the donation box.
However, his hand got stuck in the box.
