Balasore: Industrial Estate police here Sunday arrested six persons including a YouTuber on a charge of assaulting two youths and shooting at them over a comment posted on one of his videos on YouTube, May 24. This was stated here by SP Sagarika Nath at a press meeting held at the Industrial Estate police station, Sunday. The prime accused was identified as Udit Nayak of the Sobharampur area in the town. All the six accused are between 17 to 23 years of age. Seven high-end mobile phones, one cartridge, a mouser, and two bikes were seized from their possession. Nayak was earlier involved in a murder case. After the arrest, police launched efforts to freeze his bank account and wrote to YouTube to close the channel. The SP said that Udit had opened a YouTube channel named ‘Untalented Guy’ and was posting videos using vulgar language. He was earning lakhs through these videos as he had a huge number of followers. The dispute arose after a follower posted some comments in the comment section of the video which was not to the liking of Nayak. This led to a brawl between Nayak and the follower.
Later, Nayak, accompanied by his five associates, attacked Pinku Dash of Mandarapur village and Amit Kumar Dash of Niabag under the Remuna Golei bridge, May 24. Pinku and Amit sustained critical injuries in the attack. Later, the two lodged a complaint at the Industrial Estate Police Station. On being directed by the SP, two special teams led by the SDPO arrested one person after raiding various places in the Balasore district and the rest five from Bhubaneswar.
