Kolkata: Yuvraj Singh may now be out of form and out of Indian cricket team for quite some time, but this all-rounder has pinned hope to be a part of the upcoming World Cup.
“Whatever I have, or for that matter I am today is because of Cricket. It has given me everything. I wish to leave the game when I am at my best. I do not wish to leave the game with any regret,” said the hero of 2011 World Cup winning team, who is in Kolkata for Punjab’s Ranji Trophy Elite Group B match against Bengal.
This 37-year-old stylish all rounder has been picked up by Mumbai Indians for his base price of Rs 1 crore.
“I am trying my best. This is our final Ranji league match. Let’s see if we can qualify or not. After this we have national T20 and then the IPL,” he said at Jadavpur Salt Lake Campus Ground.
He has set his hope on this T20 extravaganza to make his bid for a comeback.
He lauded the performance of Indian team under the captaincy of Virat Kohli in the Test series in Australia.
