Titlagarh: A 12-hour bandh was observed in Titlagarh Thursday demanding district status for the region.

According to a source, numerous schools, colleges, shops and business institutions remained shut due to picketing by agitators.

Vehicular movement was hindered between Titlagarh and Kesinga in Kalahandi district as protesters staged road blockades at several places in Titlagarh sub-division in Bolangir district, the source added.

“The politicians are garnering votes in their favour on the promise of giving district status to Titlagarh. They did so in 2019. However, they are doing nothing to fulfil the promises,” one of the agitators alleged.
