Bhubaneswar: The 108 Emergency Medical Ambulance Service, managed by Ziqitza Healthcare Ltd, has been a lifeline for the people of Odisha since its inception in 2013. With a mission of saving lives during health emergencies, the addition of these new BLS ambulances signifies a commitment to delivering instant patient care and improving the performance of the emergency ambulance service in the state.

In a significant step towards enhancing emergency healthcare services, the Chief Minister of Odisha, Naveen Patnaik, recently dedicated 26 new Basic Life Support (BLS) ambulances as part of the 108 fleet for the 4.5 crore people of the state on October 4, 2023 which will be managed by Ziqitza Healthcare Limited. This momentous occasion marked a significant stride in the efforts to ensure the health and well-being of the community.

Ziqitza Healthcare’s impact on healthcare in Odisha:

The 108 emergency medical ambulance service has been a beacon of hope for the people of Odisha, providing emergency medical services free of cost across all 30 districts. With a fleet of 624 vehicles, it includes 213 “Basic Life Support” (BLS) and 411 “Advanced Life Support” (ALS) ambulances, along with 6 boat ambulances, ensuring comprehensive coverage. Additionally, the state has 500 ambulances under Janani Express, specifically dedicated to transporting pregnant mothers and sick infants. Every day, more than 4,000 patients are transferred to hospitals through the 108 and Janani Express ambulance services. This remarkable service has not only saved countless lives but has also been instrumental in reducing the impact of health emergencies on the community.

The Recent Addition of BLS Ambulances:
